Need a good schedule for fitness training in the gym?
Well, I am planning on joining the gym for fitness, not body building, at least for now, because Im 22, and I trying to quit smoking. Im slim but im not fit at all, but I’m not sure what kind of schedule or plan I should base my “training” on. Thanks in advance.
If you’ve not been around a gym much or had a weight training class in college, I’d suggest four or five sessions with a trainer. Tell him your goals and be comfortable setting modest goals to start. At the present time I do back, biceps and abs on Monday and Thursday and chest, shoulders, triceps and abs on Tuesday and Friday and fifteen minutes on the elliptical trainer each time. A trainer can show you the exercises for each of these body parts and the machines to use. You may want to consider the free weights later

Hi Krista. In my opinion, there are no City, State, or Federal programs available to give you the correct nutritional guidelines for daily nutritional intake for any age group.
The reason I believe this is because not all foods are grown, harvested, processed, handled, distributed or prepared the same which adds or subtracts from a particular foods nutrient value. If you want true nutrition, do some research on Herbalife. I have bee on Herbalife for quit a few months now and I can honestly say I will never go back to regular dietary habits as long as I have a say in what I ingest. here is the website www.herbalife.com check them out.

if i exercise more will i (eventually) sweat less?
Assume my fitness is terrible, and that ive joined the gym and kickboxing lessons. Sweating/Greasy skin is natural from my fathers side, but still, is there anything i can do about it? its embarrassing when i sit there and have to keep dabbing my forehead but everyone else is fine. Im 6’2 and 16.5 stone, so im carrying excess weight (hence gym joining and diet planning).

If you’re carrying excess weight, it takes more energy to move around, and that will make you sweat. As you lose weight, you will stop sweating so much.
Interestingly, as you get fitter, you will sweat more during exercise. If you’re fit, you can handle a harder workout, which takes more energy. More energy means more heat and so more sweat. However, you should welcome this: the heat is your fat burning off, after all.

When I start teach reading I plan my lesson around a couple of phonics sounds and just let it build from there. When I use groups in the classroom I try and arrange it so there is at least one good reader in each group and they can help the other students.
Usually when the students start to learn to read they are all at different levels, so it is very difficult to use the one size fits all model that most schools like to use. Also I like the Montessori approach to learning to read as the students are grouped in different ages groups: like 3 – 6 and 6 – 9 year olds all grouped together.
Montessori used sandpaper letters and these help to cement the words in the child’s mind. With the different age groups the older students teach the younger ones and this really helps plant reading in the older student.
As has been said before ‘If you want to learn a topic then teach it.’
When I first start teaching reading I pick some phonic sounds from the list, make up a word with sandpaper letters that contains the phonics sound. Then I get the students to trace the word in the sandpaper letters while saying it out loud.
After they can all say the word I find another word with the same phonic sound and start the process again. For example cat, hat, mat and bat.
