How to cancel LA Fitness membership in a legal letter???
I bought a Pro Results personal training contract at LA Fitness. They Gave me a 5 day guarantee that i could cancel it in. The catch is that the contract says i have to mail a letter to the Home Base of La fitness in Irvine, CA.
As long as the letter is post marked before midnight of of the 5th day, is it still legally inside the 5 guarantee???
Also, I read online that La fitness often claims to never receive these letters form members and ignores them. What can I do to ensure they don’t try to pull this on me?
And lastly, exactly what do i have to write in the letter in terms of information. And should I threaten to get my lawyer involved etc to get them the cancel it on time??
since they are asking letters from members you do not have to write a letter as if you were an attorney. just state, name, address, club location (city and address), membership number, date you signed, and that you want to cancel. date the letter, heck you can even get a member to witness you siging the letter and placing in evelope and closing. just get their name and add to letter, not required. have the letter stamped at post office and keep calling them daily.

fitness philosophy quotes
November 28, 2009 by admin · Leave a Comment

When an employer writes an annual review, develops a letter of recommendation for you, or even sends a nice compliment on your work, make sure you file it away for future use. These documents can be powerful tools to help you stand out amongst other candidates applying for the job. From them you are able to extract quotes or testimonials that can be incorporated in your résumé and cover letter. When a person in charge of hiring reads these quotes, they are automatically made aware that your skills are concrete and you have in fact been an asset to past companies or organizations.
The best spots to place these quotes in a résumé are either after your areas of expertise or at the end of the document. You can also put them in other areas of the résumé to fill up extra space. Just make sure that you use them sparingly (perhaps one or two per document) and that they do not look awkward or out of place. The testimonial from a past employer or co-worker should be put in quotation marks and italicized, follow by a dash, the person’s name, rank, and place of work (all in regular lettering). To make the lines stand out even further, use light background shading. You do not want the testimonials to detract from your solid credentials and experience, but serve as a nice complement to your résumé.
In addition, make certain that the quotes you are using are fairly up-to-date. It is better to use something from the past few years as opposed to 20 years previously. As well, if you have a multitude of different quotes to choose from, find one or two that are the most relevant to the position you are applying for. For example, if you have recently switched careers, going from sales representative to teacher, find a testimonial that portrays leadership and instructional skills. Finally, if more than one individual has provided you with material you can reference, it is better to choose from a person who has a higher position within the organization or directly supervised you. For example, it is more fitting that you use a testimonial from a manager directly above you or a principal instead of a co-worker who simply works in the same position you do.
If you do not have any testimonials, but would like to use a quote, you can always research something online that suits your own personal philosophy. For instance, many teacher résumés include a direct quote from famous theorists or researchers. Think of key names that you hear in the industry i.e. Gardner, Bloom, Canter, etc. for education. To apply these quotes to your résumé or cover letter, simply follow the steps outlined above for incorporating testimonials (quotation marks, italicized writing, name of author, and background shading).

Work for major league baseball?
I would love to work with major league baseball.
I have some college experience and some classes complete:
English
Math
Business Enterprise
Business Management
Heath/Fitness
Comparative Religions
…and a few more. I know a College degree would probably be the best way to get in…but I don’t have a degree.
Is working for MLB a type of business which the term comes in ” Its not what you know its who you know”? If so, I don’t know anyone other than the clubhouse manager . I use to be a Bat boy for the Detroit Tigers when I was younger but after you reach a certain age you’re out. I’ve asked him numerous times what he would recommend me doing and he really cant help me to much since he’s always working his tail off in the clubhouse What would you recommend me doing?
email me if you like
Thank you for the guidance
Nick -Age-22
tigersbatboy03@yahoo.com
Note: I’ve checked on MLB.com for job opportunities and its so hard to even get back in.
My suggestion would be to check out an internship with a minor league affiliate of a MLB team. The pay may be little, or nothing at all, but the experience, chance for networking and ability to learn who’s who would be invaluable.
This would give you exposure to the “who you know” that you mention.

Diet and Fitness on Yahoo?
http://ca.lifestyle.yahoo.com/health-fitness/articles/diet/rogers-chatelaine/the-trim-tummy-meal-plan-2009-08-31
So, if I eat these foods and maintain a healthy diet, I can have a flatter stomach?
Thanks for the answers. I’m not fat. Just trying to eat healthier.
Actually, The information on Health on that article is terrible to be honest.
I’ll paste the first meal and criticize and comment, based on my knowledge.
2 rice cakes< -- processed crap with carbs/sugar. Little or no quality fats in it. Humans didn't evolve from processed rice snack cakes.
2 Tbsp almond butter<-- almond butter is awesome! highly recommended.
1 cup orange juice<---- sugar over-kill. Orange juice from the store has little or no nutritional value, as it has been pasteurized and is pure sugar, plain and simple. Besides protein shakes or raw, whole full fat milk, only water should be consumed. Don't drink calories!
1 cup milk or fortified soy milk<--- Soy is garbage. It is not a health food. Hell, it isn't even a food. They use hexane (if you don't know what it is, I suggest you look it up..) to extract the soy from the beans..it's terrible for humans and the environment.
1 banana<-- bananas are fine after a workout, make sure they are organic.
1 cup yogurt or soy-based yogurt<-- *sigh* soy based yogurt is highly processed and again, not a health food. Eat full-fat, raw organic yogurt. It's Pre-biotics will aid with digestive health. Make sure it is sugar free and contains no fruit. If you MUST have it sweet, put some stevia in it.
1 egg-salad pita wrap<-- Wraps aren't that healthy. Just eat the eggs by itself, and substitute the wrap bread with a sweet potato.
1 whole wheat pita bread- Bread is highly processed, try sweet potatoes or low-glycemic index products like organic brown rice and flax.
1 cup baby spinach<-- spinach rocks! make sure it is organic. Have some olive oil (cold pressed extra virgin is the only good kind)
1 hardboiled egg, sliced <-- eggs are good, make sure they are over easy with runny yolks. Don't worry about the cholesterol in eggs, dietary cholesterol isn't bound to blood cholesterol
½ cup red pepper, sliced<-- red peppers are fine, but cruciferous veggies are better (kale, spinach, cauliflower, broccoli)
½ cup mushrooms, sliced <-- mushrooms are fine, make sure they are organic.
10 baby carrots<--- baby carrots are crap, they are sprayed with orange dye to make they appear fresh.
1 cup milk or soymilk<--- again, no soy.Drink milk.Make sure it is pasteurized. And if you're lactose intolerant, drink raw milk. The lactase enzyme in the milk will ensure that the lactose is broken down properly due to the phosphatase calcium absorption in your stomach.

Driving Properly
Know how driving properly can save your life, gasoline and your cars life cycle.
Easy with the throttle
Driving in a highway or any road is not a race so there is no need to step it up with the throttle. If you worry about being late for a meeting or an appointment, driving fast and reckless is still not the proper choice. In situations like this where you have to drive to catch a deadline or a certain time, it is best to drive calmly and still obey traffic rules. You may call your date or the people involve and state to them that you will be late. It is better than to drive hastily.
During emergencies, the best thing to do is to keep calm. There are cases where people actually panic during this emergencies and drives faster and more reckless. This should not be done. Be calm and take hold of the situation. Call the ambulance if necessary, cause they are faster and more experienced and they carry along with them equipments and professional that can help while being on the road, or if the emergency is in the place of your destination, call people up to assess the situation and drive properly.
Do not race with other vehicles. Sometimes there will be cases where another driver would be offended or dared by another driver and a race is not the solution for this. Racing should only be done in race tracks or in any controlled condition (race events), but not in highways.
Driving calmly will save you your life and save you more gas. Do not step on the gas to get your engine angry and reach high RPMs (revolution per minute). The higher the RPM you make your car run in between changing gears, the more gasoline it burns up. Try to run your car in between 2000 RPM to 3000 RPM in between gears and during/when in highest gear.
Follow Traffic Rules
Driving in and outside the city are different but observing traffic rules should always not be forgotten. Following traffic signs or traffic police can help prevent accidents and will give you no traffic violation tickets. Traffic violation tickets are not just expensive but they can also stop you from driving, it can forfeit your license.
Driving in the city can burn more gasoline than driving in an open road. The trick with traffic lights or when/during in heavy traffic jams, you should turn off your engine to save you gasoline. It is more difficult to drive in the city for there are more cars than in open roads. Always be alert and don’t drive recklessly.
Driving in the mountains could be dangerous as well. There are signs in the road that drivers should always observe and follow. Speed limit goes for every road and highways and terrain so one should follow it. Even professional racers advices to follow each and every road rule.
Don’t drive intoxicated or sleepy
It is best to drive if the driver is in the right condition. Being in the right condition gives the driver a better observation of the road. Being sleepy or intoxicated makes a driver’s driving skills worse and this can cause an accident.
Drivers should always refrain from drinking and driving. Drunk drivers have the tendency to forget about the speed and traffic rules. Most teenagers and some adults nowadays that are involved in accidents are caused by alcohol. If you are caught while driving under the influence (DUI) you will spend a night in jail and that is not fun.
Taking a coffee break or a sleep over a motel is not that bad at all. Do not force your body to drive long trips or night trips if you feel tired or sleepy. Motels and fast food chains can be found anywhere and a coffee or a room is cheaper than an accident.
Know Your Car and Keep it Fit
A driver should be well acquainted with the car that he is driving. The weight limit, speed limit, type of gasoline used and the passenger limit are the basic things you should know about your car.
Keeping the proper passenger and weigh limit for the car keeps it running at its best condition. The more weight it has, the more friction it can cause during driving and this can burn more gasoline.
Using the proper type of gasoline for your car makes it run better. If you are having troubles with the gas prices nowadays, there are a lot of alternatives to save up in the oil. Engine conversions are used by others and this kind of engines run on alternatives such as used oils (from restaurants) and water. Hybrid engines also run on alternatives and lastly, public transportations. Using the bus or the train could be less convenient but it is cheaper than gasoline.
Keep your car fit. It is alright to spend a few bucks on an expert or a mechanic to give your car a timely maintenance and service. Properly maintained cars burn less fuel as well. For example, if you keep your oil changed at a certain mileage or time, this can reduce burning of gasoline by ensuring that it runs properly and cleanly.
