Looking for rock climbing gyms near Schaumburg, IL?

Hi, I live in the Schaumburg area of IL. I would like to find a rock climbing gym that is in the area, about 30ish minutes away at the most, so none in Chicago. The only place that I know of that offers rock climbing is Life Time Fitness. A day pass there is like 2 dollars and a membership is outrageous in price. So I was wondering if anyone knows of any local climbing gyms

Why is this fat not going away?

I’ve been working out vigorously and dieting strictly harsh for the past couple of months. I ride my exercise bike very intense-high intensity cardio sometimes at a moderate pace to throw off my body for shock of fat burning. I only eat spinach and white meat Oscar Meyer Chicken strips and drink water/green tea with no sugar after boiling green tea bags. I do ab workouts, and overall body workouts. I still have stomach flab, I’m no where close to seeing a six pack on my abs. What is wrong. I only eat pretty much no more than 400 calories a day and workout hard almost every day. It’s crazy! I don’t understand it. It’s been 2 months already. I stay away from sugar period. There’s no sugar in anything I eat or drink. What’s up with it still being belly fat around my stomach? I eat like the Men’s Fitness magazine body trainers do. Oh, yeah! I also take Whey Protein and add it to my water, so I get protein on top of the skinless Chicken strips.

It’s that you’re not getting enough calories in your diet. I recognize that this might sound backward. What’s happening, though, is that you’re putting your body in “starvation mode”. Because you’re taking in so few calories, your body believes that you don’t have access to food, and therefore, it must convert every single calorie to fat…it’s storing it up, just in case your small food supply goes away all together. And no, the Men’s Fitness magazine trainers don’t eat like this…you might have read a recipe for ONE of the meals they take in, but trust me, they’ll be the first ones to tell you that you need more than that.

An adult-sized human is going to need no less than about 1200 calories a day. Someone who is working out will need more. Most people can lose weight by reducing their intake to 1500 – 1800 calories a day.

How do I become a teen fitness model?

I have a nice body and really define abs, I just turn 19.. and I want to become a teen fitness model. Is that even a profession? I have 2 tattoos on my arm small ones, and I dont want to be a fashion run way model, I just want to be a fitness model where I can show my body on magazine etc… Please help serious answer.

Since you are over 18, you can also go to www.modelmayhem.com & network on there with other photographers, models, etc. It’s not an “agency”, it is a networking site & free to join.

FYI – you don’t need a portfolio in order to send photos to an agency. Any agency who wants you will know exactly what kinds of photos they want in order to promote you. Do NOT listen to anyone who says you need a portfolio in order to get started! I had nothing when my agency accepted me. When they signed me, they told me what types of photos they needed (“Commercial/lifestyle”), gave me a list of photographers in the area who did that type of photography, and I had to get photos taken for my comp card (model’s business card which has photos on it). I didn’t have to use any of the photographers on the list, I was free to go to any photographer I wanted as long as they knew how to do commercial photography. If an “agency” sends you to use their in-house photographer & don’t give you the option to shop around for a different photographer, then it is a scam.

And lastly, modeling is a lot of hard work & you can’t always do what you want. As a model, I have to make sure I get a lot of sleep, eat the right nutritious foods, and take good care of myself. Sometimes I can’t go out with my friends because I have rehearsals for a show or fittings. You sometimes have to wait around for hours for a rehearsal or maybe at a photoshoot and you have to be very patient. Some models take their homework with them to shoots or rehearsals because they have no other time to do it. Modeling isn’t all about lying around looking beautiful. The glamorous photos don’t show how much work this really is. I don’t say this to turn you off, I say it because people are often surprised about how much work a photoshoot is. Holding poses is tough and it sometimes reminds me of yoga because some of the poses aren’t very comfortable at all but you have to try to stay relaxed and *look” comfortable. It’s hard. Having said that, if you truly love to model, you won’t mind the work involved. Best of luck!!! :)
